Long-haul Flights and DVT
Sitting in a static position during long journeys increases your risk of developing Deep Vein Thrombosis.
When you’re cramped for long period of time, your blood flow slows causing it to collect unproportionally in your lower legs where a blood clot could form. Wearing our graduated compression socks can dramatically reduce your risk of developing DVT by preventing blood 'pooling' in the calf.

Why DVT is Common During Long Haul Flights?
When your body heals from a superficial injury (e.g. at skin level), your body's natural response is to form a blood clot to limit excess blood loss, and will dissolve when no longer needed. Alternately your body may form a harmless varicose or spider vein. However, the deeper the vein a clot occurs in, the more likely it is to remain intact. This is dangerous because if it reaches your heart and blocks an artery, it could rupture and cause a heart attack or stroke. If it enters your lungs, it could prevent you from breathing. When you’re seating on a long flight, you’re more likely to develop one in your lower legs, and these clots are prone to dislodging and entering high-risk areas. It only takes a four-hour flight for your risk to increase.
How to Reduce Your Risk of DVT Whilst Flying
There are many things you can do to reduce your risk of developing DVT during flights. Regular movement and stretching, adequate hydration, and as little alcohol or sleeping tablets as possible are all effective, as is a brisk walk after landing. To drastically reduce your risk of DVT further, you can wear graduated compression socks as they prevent blood 'pooling' in your calf muscles.
It’s important to always seek medical advice before taking a long flight. For example, if you’re over 60 and have high blood pressure, smoke regularly or are pregnant you could be at increased risk. In such cases, your doctor might prescribe you appropriate medication, which can also be used in combination with compression stockings/socks.

Great fit, super comfortable, already noticing the benefit. Will be ordering more pairs.

Arrived quickly

Fabulous service, socks are nicer than I imagined for travel socks! Thank you

Fantastic service. Sleeves are great! Thanks for the speedy delivery.

Great product. Just used them on flights back to UK.
Great. Service Heather,

Best socks. Way better than the last ones I wore years ago which were all nylon and horrible.
My compression stockings have arrived and it is the first day I am wearing them. I am glad the weather is cooler now so it is not a problem to wear stockings.
Great to wear them when doing a lot of overdue ironing, gardening and walking. All the tiredness seems to have gone!
My only complaint is that they are a bit too tight under the knees but I hope they will soften or loosen a bit and then I'll be 100% pleased.

I have only been wearing my socks a couple of days and already notice my legs are not so tired at the end of the day. I like the reinforced toe and heel - also makes it easier to roll the socks on.

Use them for circulation during exercise, in the early days, but so far very comfortable, and the compression is really good. Very fast service also!

I have ordered compression socks from TXG before and every time they have been delivered in a flash. The socks are great. I find them comfortable and they certainly eliminate any swelling in my ankles that might accumulate during the day. I like the way the new iteration has more reinforcing in the heel so, I feel confident they will last even longer than my older pairs

Fast delivery, good fit and the quality looks promising; time will tell.
Good to know it's not made in China.

I have been using TXG "Classic Daily" compression stockings for several years now. Just great quality!

I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis in both feet so the versatile sock is easy to swap from foot to foot dependent on which one hurts. It's also so easy to put on, feels secure and is much more comfortable and easy to sleep with than a boot. The fact it compresses my calf at the same time is a win win :)
